LCMC is constantly encountering congregations and pastors in transition. With so many baby boomer pastors retiring in the next few years, the need for trained, intentional interim pastors has never been greater.
LCMC is offering an intentional interim ministry basic training class for interested LCMC pastors July 8 through July 10at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. This course will be taught again by Pastor Steve Lien, Intentional Interim Pastor Steve Abend, and Intentional Interim Pastor Tim Hummel.
This year we will also be offering an intentional interim ministry advanced training course with practical skills for intentional interim pastors. This training is for pastors who have taken the basic course and would like additional training. Topics covered are self-care, preaching during the interim period, best practices of educating and entering the intentional interim congregation, using the lectionary and seasons during the interim time, and more. The advanced course will be offered July 10 through July 12 at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA. This course will be taught by Pastor Steve Lien; Intentional Interim Pastor Steve Abend; Intentional Interim Pastor Tim Hummel; and Intentional Interim Pastor Dawn Spies.
Upon registration, a syllabus will be provided. There is required reading to be completed before class.
Cost is $175 for each training course. Housing is available through Grand View University.
